  1. Competitive Teams

Players are now working to hone their soccer skills under a variety of competitive conditions in an 11 v 11 game format that mirrors adult play. Along with the continued refinement of advanced techniques, players work to develop their tactical awareness, discipline and mental toughness.

  • Dribbling ball

    Technical

    Technical skills revolve around core skills such as controlling the ball, dribbling, shooting, passing and building a greater repertoire of soccer-related movement

  • Heading ball

    Heading

    Heading is now allowed during games at this level

  • Dribbling ball

    Dribbling

    Develop dribbling with sole, inside and outside of the foot

  • Passing ball

    Passing

    Develop short and medium passing with the inside of the foot and instep pass

  • Shooting ability

    Shooting ability

    Introduce receiving with the inside and outside of foot and instep, and shooting while dribbling

U15-19 Season

  • Competitive level of Soccer coached by certified Canadian Soccer Association/NCCP coaches (courses financed and supported by Sting FC)
  • Teams have the opportunity to play in the GESL League
  • 1 game & 2 team practices per week
  • Technical Training: 12-16 sessions per season
  • Entry in up to 3-5 Tournaments (Sting FC includes 1 in fees)
  • 15 min pre-game planning and post-game review
  • Players participate in balanced playing time during league, play-offs & tournaments
  • Standard Rules of Soccer apply with slight modification between indoor and outdoor seasons mandated by the EMSA League
  • Indoor Season: October - February, potential for provincials in March
  • Outdoor Season: May to August with potential for provincials mid-August

General

Fulfillment of each player’s potential depends on their own efforts, the support of teammates, and the guidance of the coach. Players are exposed to quality playing and training environments which extend their mental, physical, tactical and technical capabilities. Players gain a solid understanding of soccer principles and concepts, and are learning emotional stability when under pressure in games.
