At Edmonton Sting FC, we pride ourselves on having some of the best technical staff in the City of Edmonton. Our dedicated Technical Team is committed to the consistent development of players across all teams, ensuring alignment with the various streams in the CSA pathway. By focusing on enhancing the competitive edge of our teams, we facilitate seamless progression for players as they advance through age groups.
Each coaching staff member is responsible for their specific player development and success, and our diverse group of male and female coaches holds varying levels of CSA certifications. The Technical Coordinator provides oversight during technical sessions, ensuring adherence to club standards. Operating under the direction of the Director of Development/Technical Director, our Technical Team maintains a cohesive development strategy that fosters a thriving soccer community.

Meet the Director of Development
Kwabena (Dominic) Oppong
Kwabena, our Soccer Director, is a former professional soccer player with a deep commitment to the technical and soft skills essential for nurturing exceptional athletes. He oversees player and coach development, integrating the roles of parents and guardians into the soccer journey. Kwabena crafts and implements a dynamic curriculum with clear milestones to ensure players progress while enjoying their development.

Michael Cox
Michael brings a wealth of experience to our club, having played professionally with FC Edmonton and abroad in Finland, USL Championship, and CPL. A National Champion with York University, Michael now serves as our Technical Coordinator. His expertise and passion for developing functional soccer skills are vital to our club’s vision.

Meet the Goalkeeper Coach
Stephen Lee
Stephen is a dedicated goalkeeper coach with a rich background in competitive soccer. Hailing from Stockport, Greater Manchester, he started his journey with the Stockport Junior Blues and advanced to academy level, where he cultivated a strong understanding of the goalkeeper position. After relocating to Canada, he played in the Manitoba and Edmonton leagues, honing his skills and on-field leadership. Now two years into his coaching career, Stephen is passionate about guiding aspiring goalkeepers to reach their full potential. His coaching philosophy centers on agility, positioning, and mental resilience, striving to develop well-rounded athletes who excel both on and off the field.
Meet the Grassroots Coordinator
Amanda Torres
Position Overview: The Grassroots Coordinator is responsible for the development and delivery of the Edmonton Sting FC Grassroots Program, which serves players aged U4-U7. This role involves creating, maintaining, and updating drills, session plans, and program outlines in alignment with the Edmonton Sting FC Technical Team's framework and guiding principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee the Grassroots Program to ensure effective player development.
- Collaborate with the Administrator and work under the direction of the Director of Development/Technical Director.
- Manage and supervise Youth Coaches and Grassroots Coaches during program delivery, ensuring high-quality training experiences.
- Be present onsite for the duration of all Grassroots programming.
